Twenty years ago, like many European industrial players, Sagem transferred part of its manufacturing capabilities to Asia, where it developed strong production expertise and operational excellence.
Today, MobiWire is bringing part of this industrial footprint back to Europe with the signing of the lease for its new facility in Brașov, Romania, scheduled to begin operations in early 2027.
This long-term investment marks a new step in MobiWire’s industrial journey. With complementary manufacturing capabilities across Asia and Europe; bringing production closer to European customers while continuing to leverage the scale and expertise developed in Asia.
A new production footprint in Europe
The Brașov facility will feature 4 SMT lines and 4 assembly lines, increasing MobiWire’s overall production capacity and providing greater flexibility to adapt to different customer needs and deployment requirements.
The European facility will complement MobiWire’s existing manufacturing capabilities in Asia, allowing the company to offer the best fit depending on project requirements, volumes, timelines and market needs — including the possibility of competitive Made-in-Europe products.
Closer to customers
Having production capabilities in Europe means shorter distances between manufacturing and European customers.
This will help:

Scheduled for 2027, this new European setup will strengthen MobiWire’s proximity, agility and responsiveness, making it the only one in Europe to do chip-on-board manufacturing.
